E92 Differential Project
Whats up guys,
so recently my pinion bearings started singing a song in my rear diff, i worked for BMW for a couple years and have seen this as early as 30k, thankfully mine held out till 113,xxx So anyway, I'm picking up one from a local salvage yard but plan on dissembling my old one and either rebuilding it with new bearings and seals OR....wait for it, rebuilding it with LSD parts. So my question is, who thinks either one of those options is a good idea, i would either sell it or put it back in my car and do the same with the one I'm getting from the salvage yard so either way ill have a spare one.. Chime in, Let me know what you guys think |

retrofit a lsd for an earlier bmw into our diff case, you have an 08 so your ring gear is welded. Get a ring then find out the size of the diff, i think earlier cars had either 180mm or 210mm limited slips. e32's, e36's, some e34's, do your hw there are ways to build an limited slip.
