2010 335d Fair Price?

I'm in the market for a 335d as a daily driver, travel vehicle. I'm pretty much sold on it over a 335i with the reliability, and fuel consumption the 335d offers. Plus I need 4 doors and auto transmission anyway.

What is a fair price buying from a private seller? Car is 2010 with 90K miles, great condition it appears. I've been checking out Kelley Blue Book and it seems the upper $16K asking price is very high compared to their values. Thanks for any guidance!

Kelly blue book is basically worthless, look around at what price they are going for and how desirable the options and the condition is. You can have a 2010 335d that is beige on beige with no service history or 2010 335d that is white on black with service history. These details mean a lot and prices can vary widely.

GL with purchase. Just FYI you can run the VIN on http://bimmer.work/ and see the options.

It's Leguna Seca Blue with Oyster leather interior. Sport and premium. I would think those check marks make it a bit of a gem. I'll ask about service records too. The guy has really taken care of the car and it's a 1 owner, the pics look good, clear car fax, and he's had it done with the clear vinyl covers. Thanks guys.

The options make it more valuable. If the car has been cared for, it should be good for another 100K+ miles (obviously need to deal with emissions issues)

IMHO, that price for a blue on beige, msport that has been taken care of seems fair.

I've had a bit more luck w/ NADA guides and agree, KBB may not be useful from experience.

Just so as you are aware, these are great cars, but the emissions systems will need to be taken care of or removed to ensure reliable operation.

You are not going to find an m sport for that price, plus they only made them in 2011.

Sorry, I guess I misread the description. It only has the sport package.

So given its the sport package and not msport, am I looking at a big price disparity not having that option? I'd prefer not to pay anymore than $16,500 which seems to be closer to the going rate given the mileage and is still quite a bit more than I wanted to spend. I've found 335i's quite a bit less with similar miles, year, and condition but that's a whole other animal. To justify a 2nd vehicle, part of the equation is better fuel consumption than my modded G8 that gets 16 mixed and 21 highway. Looking at basically doubling that with a 335d and diesel is quite a bit less than premium in my area.

Ask any experienced car salesman and they will tell you "buy the car, not the price"

My last 90 days

I bought two 2011 cars in the last 90 days in Texas, and paid $16K even for a 2011 with 88K miles, and $17,200 for a 2011 m-Sport model with 70K miles. Both cars are fairly well equipped, but the 70K car had Comfort Access, PDC, HK stereo, rear blinds, factory alarm that the 88K car did not have.

So you can find good deals if you look every day and study the equipment. Good luck. I love my 2011 335d cars. The pull like freight trains and corner like they are on rails !!!

Depends on equipment. You can barely find a decent one under 90K for $12K. Anything that low priced would be either bare-bone stock or over 100K miles.

Where are you located? I saw a 335d ad on Craigslist in Milwaukee. He had it for 17k for 2010.
No association with the owner.

I think it's a fair asking price. Truecar.com agrees.

Thanks for all the insight, I'm in Tallahassee, Fl. Looks like the guy had an offer at $17k sine then and he's in Austin, TX so I'd have to travel which I don't mind too much but no responses from him now. The search continues, looking at 335i's too. They're definitely more abundant and priced a bit less even though Id prefer 335d.
