DIY - Replace Headliner and Parcel Shelf in E92

DIY - Replacing headliner and parcel shelf in a E92

The two tone upgrade continues with this DIY by replacing the beige headliner and parcel shelf with new black headliner and parcel shelf.

It could be useful to anyone wanting to replace their headliner or parcel shelf or both

Is a big job so allow a good day to complete this project

I have gone into lots of detail for the removal steps but put less detail into the reinstall as it is a reverse of the removal

Hope this helps someone out

nice write up! very detailed. I'm new to e92's and was just curious what models came with Black headliner. my 335 has black carpet, seats, and door cards, but gray headliners and I would love to swap it to black. I was thinking about wrapping the original headliner, but i'd rather but a new one if they came in black.

EDIT: also, just so you know, every time you commented on this you had the ability to "rate" the tutorial and you gave yourself all 1's which are the lowest. I did the same on accident, didn't realize you had the option to rate it. Then went back and edited it so it was all 5's

Thanks for the writeup @Socket!

In order to repair my headliner on my sunroof slider do I have to remove the entire headliner..?? I was paying extra attention for the sunroof part but I noticed you kept it factory..

Sorry I didn't change out the sunroof liner, I imagine you would have to remove the headliner to do so but not 100% sure sorry

That's ok bud, I found out that the sunroof glass actually comes off with 6 screws and the slider piece can be removed that way through the top!

But thanks!
