Yo should be able to install an FRM 3. The advantage is that Led lights will not be as much of a problem to use in your car.
I don't see why you would just go to a FRM 2 when the FRM 3 is the best module available for your car. You will have to get it coded to your car. There are a few DIY's on this, if you have the software. Or take it to a local independent shop that specializes in European cars. The Steelership can code it too but it will cost more through them. The computer they hook it up to takes them 20 min tops. I have personally seen it done. Dealer will probably charge you like 2-4 hours labor. |

I did this. but I went from FRM2 to FRM3, not FRM1.
install is pretty easy, the FRM is located behind your hood latch (LHD). be sure the FRM has the same options as your car. Coding will be needed (pretty extensive, i had a friend do it for me) (I remember you need to re-write VO and vin etc.) I think AHL can be coded in providing your hardware is there. (I had it the whole time, so idk) |

if you do not installing LCI Headlights with LED or Rear LCI headlights you will not get much benefit from FRM3 Max Brose
you'll be fine with FRM 2 XE
