essay help

hello everyone, i am doing a research/argument paper in my english 1102 class and have chosen to do a topic related to cars and their affects on the atmosphere. if anyone has an opinion they would like to share on how severe car emissions are really affecting our world, it would really help me. the topic is supposed to be as narrow as possible and if im not mistaken, i remember a thread on this forum not to long ago about a law being passed to reduce production of fast cars (v8's and such), so i guess my overall question is will reducing the production of fast cars eventually save our world? the topic is subject to change also its not in stone so if anyone has any ideas your help is very much appreciated. thank you all!

Well, your grammar could use some help.

Most fast cars cost more than average, so most cars on the road are inherently not fast cars. If you only get rid of the fast cars, you will not put that big of a dent into saving the environment as ensuring the bulk of cars actually in use having reduced pollution emissions.

There has also been progress in lawmaking that affects diesel trucks, not the F-350 type of truck, but the huge semi-trucks. You see tons of these vehicles on the road, and for quite a long time the emissions standards have not kept up to match passenger vehicles.

Another option to view is the use of alternative transportation methods. Encourage people to carpool and to utilize public transportation. There are many possibilities that I am sure can be found out through the judicious use of Google.

The reduction of V8 usage may be most impacted in Europe, where the proliferation isn't as great as it stands. There is a requirement that is being proposed that will significantly reduce the amount of carbon coming out of the exhaust. This impacts larger displacement engines greater than smaller displacement engines. Normally, you will find big displacement with more cylinders.

Write this as your closing paragraph.

"There is currently not enough factual information to draw a sensible conlusion on this topic. I do not need to be force-fed your political agenda. I do not believe there is a 1:1 correlation between climate change and exhaust gas emissions. Cars FTMFW!"

Does your post in this forum constitute your research?

+1. Rent and watch "An Inconvenient Truth." It should be just about all the research you need. Also, work on your grammar.

I really enjoyed the last sentence -- HAHAHA.
Cars, for the MOTHER F'ING win!

Furthermore, if you can touch upon alternative strategies regarding fuels [and corporate responsibilities], I will be posting a thread about BMW's CleanEnergy Strategy shortly.
