BPC Tune Q&A
NOTE: The tunes we sell that removes or disables ANY emissions equipment is sold as OFF ROAD USE ONLY. Bimmer Performance Center / Motorsports is not in the business to help you pass emissions testing, For more information on your state laws & proper use of aftermarket equipment or software, please visit http://www.semasan.com/page.asp?cont…sions&g=semaga
Hello All, just wanted to start a thread with a Q&A on our tune levels, the turn around process and the requirements for each level. Quote:

Built for vehicles with stock emissions equipment and want a minor bump in power & torque Stage II: For someone looking for more power over the stage I & have the option to disable the SCR, DPF & EGR emissions systems for off road use. With this tune we recommend upgrading the stock boost pipe. Stage II+: Same boost levels as the stage II tune, this software update is recommend if you remove the SCR filter from the exhaust system, allows us to run a richer air to fuel ratio with out worrying about clogging the filter. Stage III: This level is for drivers looking to do any type of power adder upgrades like meth injection, nitrous, & hybrid turbo upgrades. recommend upgrades: boost pipe, intercooler & exhaust. At this level, we can still do remote tuning since we have a huge database of tunes already built for these mods. Stage IV: This is when you start adding power adders on top of power adders(hybrid turbos + meth, single turbo or turbo + NOS + meth) , the stage IV is a truly custom tune and is required to have the car in house. 1) Fill both tanks to the top with distilled water or DEF(urea) NOTE Urea does have a shelf life of two years, so it will need to be drained and replaced. 2) No need to remove fuses anymore with updated tune, when you order your tune, please let us know if you are removing the DEF/SCR system tank so we can disable the sensors. I've got 95 miles on my BPC stage 3 tune, really powerful, the rpm climb is amazing. I can't wait for the track to open. Also going to be hitting the Dyno really soon. I was impressed with stage 2-hot tune that Petey highboost has. Bob also made a tune for my x5d.. It's so snappy, and zero smoke, it's how the x5d should have been from the factory. Great work! Thanks! This stage 3 setup brings me so much joy!

I just tried to use the bottom DEF tank for my WI. I planned on using devils own self sealing bulkhead fitting. The fitting requires a 7/8 hole and the fitting tightens to seal the hole. Well, I literally just drilled a hole in the lowest point of the tank and to my surprise/ disappointment, the tank is double layered and possible baffled. The self sealing bulkhead fitting wasn't able to seal the hole I had made. Of course I already had the plan in my head and I fear I overlooked a much more simplistic method. Theres a 6-7mm nipple that the supply hose is connected too. I think that'd be the best method to draw fluid from the tank. You'd just have to adapt the fitting to you WI line... Maybe a small piece of hose/ clamp etc.

I am in an emissions state (California) which allows two unset diesel readiness monitors to pass the a functional check. I don't care about the visual at all. Will your tune pass a blind smog check (obd2 only) in California?
