Prospective 335D Owner
Hello all. I'm new to the forum and have been perusing many of the tech posts for the 335Ds. I can say that i have learned enough on here and through personal experience (thanks, Venom107!) to know that a 335D is what I want for my next DD/Project Car. I have built many Detroit cars over the years, and am now looking for something that will make reliable power and torque day in and day out with high MPG capability for the commute. Thanks all for sharing all the info, experiences, and lessons learned regarding mods and maintenance that will be sure to keep me busy for a while once i find the right 335D!

You almost owe it to the D community. Come to the dark side ...

What other car can you buy that will run a 1/4 mile in 14 seconds flat and still return 35mpg on the highway?
There may be a few now but back in 2010.....the answer was ZERO. |

I can relate to Randall...... I just hocked a ~60k mile 93 cobra with a 67mm Hellion single turbo setup to clear out a hole in the wallet and in the shop for a d. Maybe ill get to come to NC soon to see y'all.

![]() I agree. I love my d, glad I got it. But damn it's broken a lot. I've had it 10 months and its spent 6 weeks in the shop. a lot of non emissions related, vacuum lines, washer pumps, etc. It's like dating a bipolar cheerleader they say. |

This made me laugh
![]() I noticed that most people tend to have more issues with '09/'10 model years with few '11. I guess I'm lucky so far I haven't experienced any major issues, especially with emissions on my 2011. Only major thing I've done is CBU. But yes I agree, driving the D is very fun and enjoyable with excellent fuel mileage. I've yet to drive any vehicle that compares to this so far.. ![]()

As to anything that compares, I had a 1988 Carrera 3.2 sport suspension w/spoilers tuned for Lime Rock, and with a 1991 E30 318is which was faster on bumpy narrow hilly country roads than the Carrera. These two cars as well as my previous E320 CDI make up, in combination, the experience I have in the 335d sport package w/PSS. PL |
