Need to know money factor (interest rate) and residual value.

Avoid putting any extra money down on a lease. Why pay early? Keep the $1500 in your bank account and use it to pay monthly payments, if necessary. You can pay fully refundable multiple security deposits (MSD) to lower the money factor.

The residual seems to be 51-52%, that sucks, but it's land rover, there is nothing you can do about that.

Does the $1500 include first payment, title and fees?

Yes it does. That's the amount due while signing.

Go over to edmunds and find out or ask what the current MF and Residual is on that model and trim. Don't forget to include how many miles a year you need because that affects the MF. Then you can easily calculate what the payments should be.

I don't think Land Rover gives that much of a deal and I don't believe they are much for negotiating though so it might just be "it is, what it is".

Good luck and enjoy!

Thanks. I posted on edmunds and looks like it is a good deal. Still diging for more details before I pull the trigger.

Have you driven one for a decent distance with varying speeds and start stops?
If so and you liked it...get it and enjoy.
If you haven't. I've seen reports of transmission issues/ failure to downshift and really booaaaah turbo lag.

No discredit to the vehicle just fyi on what I've read.

Get it warmed up and floor it. The issue I read was not downshifting or really slow. To some, myself included, that can be a bit unsettling when needing the full monty.

I wouldn't think someone is looking for performance when getting the Discovery Sport or any of the more affordable Land Rover's. You have to get into the super charged engines before any performance issues can be noted IMO.

When it comes to Discovery Sport and Evoque, I think it's just a nice SUV at an affordable price. If you're looking for performance then those are not for you.

The good thing is that he's looking at a lease so if he doesn't care for it then he'll be over it in no time.

Oh, I know that vehicle is no rocket. I'm talking about standard downshifting. I don't care what auto box it is but when I floor it I want it to drop and rev up. Google discovery sport transmission.
