Map Switiching Through the Homelink Mirror
Anybody know what exactly would be needed to execute this mod? I know the actual access to the buttons is not that hard but how and where to store the maps is whats got me boggled.
Any Suggestions?

But Vishnu doesnt have any map switching capabilities... You need to hook up a laptop to do that with the Procede... I just dont understand what the OP wants to do... If he wants to go from a race gas file to a standard 91 map from the buttons on the mirror i dont think its possible.

PROcede will have map switching... and using the buttons on the homelink mirror is a brilliant idea!!! Mine aren't being used.. it would be perfect for switching maps

The tune in question would be yes the PROcede. This idea may seem far fetched for some or even clear out ridiculous to others but it has been brought up VERY briefly in some posts, never in its own proprietary thread. It IS possible, the PROcede already has memory, how much exactly is anybodys guess. (Shiv) In case some of you are wondering why one would need to change maps on the fly, there are a number of reasons.

That would be the best solution because there is no way you can accidentaly hit those buttons. I would love to use them for Proced map switching.
The only problem is that most 335s have a regular mirror. |

i've always been interested in the map switching, id rather have it to a seperate switch than the homelink tho.

The Homelink buttons are all programmable functions in the ECU and I have those schematics. Can someone send me the schematics for the Procede? Shiv?

Dont know the feasability but I would look into either the transmission of the homelink signal or just using buttons to transmit ON/OFF switch to a small solid state flash drive with Procede software and the map switching feature as the only things on the drive. Much like a Ipod nano drive with 4 gb should be enough to run this software and then send signal either electronically or radio waves to a small pico ITX pc. Dont know if the procede has enough memory or capabilities to run as a stand alone. As you know you always have to load it into a PC/mac to run it. Just a thought.

That's a good idea. Once it was mentioned, I thought how obvious, but nobody else seemed to have brought it to light. I wouldn't mind being able to use the switches to control maps on the fly.

This is a great idea. Only caveat is it wouldnt be easy to tell which map youre in. At least with a visible toggle switch you could see it one way or the other.

Since it'll take some ECU hacking to do it anyways, is hacking the iDrive display to show that kind of information GTR style really that far off?
