275 tire on 8.5 wheel?

Hey guys, i have a set of kosie's and they're 8.5 all around. Im looking to run a 275 on the rear but im not sure if it'll fit on the wheel.. It'll be a track setup so i will be dropping air pressure when i hit the track.. Just want to make sure it'll fit fine. Help?

Not a good idea. Lot of tire flex = less precise, sloppy steering. 255 is the widest you should have on a 8.5" wheel. Ideal size is probably a 235/245. I just bought 255's on my 8.5" wheels.

A 275 is way too wide for an 8.5" wheel. Like Natedog said, a 255 is the widest thats recommended for an 8.5. A 245 might be a little better than a 255 for a track setup, but I'm not an engineer.

Well, I broken a piston ringland a few weeks after putting those tires on...and I still haven't got the motor back together....so I can't give too much feedback on the tires other than they hook up REALLY well compared to the 265 Firehawk Indy 500's I had on the car before.

They are Kumho V730 tires....really soft and sticky, but still handle corners awesome. I wouldn't go any wider on a stock wheel...technically these 275's are too wide for the oem 8.5" wheel.

As far as the suspension goes...pretty much stock. M3 front and rear arms, Bilstein B12 Prokit shocks with Eibach Sport Springs, and solid rear subframe bushings.

technically too wide, but I really like the look.

On my other car I have 235 on 9, so stretched, and I want to go with more mean on the E91, factory is 255, and planning to go 265 on 8.5''.

indy500, i know this is not the best gummy tire, but performance/$ ratio is very good.

I've had 265/35/18 PS4S' on 8.5 Style 189's for five years and like the performance and look.
