I'm a member; I've only just joined and already saved money on purchasing parts, servicing my car and even enjoyed attending a regional event to celebrate the BMW centenary. There is something special about being in a BMW convoy along with M3s, 8s, Z3Ms etc. The members are welcoming and mature and defiantly not Max Power types. The club magazine is also a good read and gives an update on all things going on within the club.

I am member and some of the events organised are really good. We had a trip to BMW Thorne a couple of years ago and last year, I went along to the Meguiars workshop event.

The magazine is a pretty good read too.

Discounts at BMW dealerships are OK; between 10-15%.

Now you have been with them for a month or so would you say it is worth the outlay?

I've been with them about 18 months. You get invited to loads of events.

I only really joined for the track days which are really well run and they don't let anybody attend who has taken the p1ss before.
They have tutors there who give their time for nothing and are a really top bunch of people.

I used to be a member, and also used to write for the magazine. They had/have registers for the various models.

I actually started up the E21 register, which I believe is still running today (I've not been a member since I dropped out of BM ownership in 2006).

Being now 'back in the fold', I would consider joining again. As said above, the magazine was always worth a read.

I like the idea of the track days. I've been looking but the only thing holding me back was being on the track with a load of boy racers in corsa's and the like, worrying the whole time that they would take me out or do something stupid. It may be a stupid question but I assume that the BMW track days are just booked out for a load of members for the day?

That's right, just BMW members. Numbers are limited and there are no boy racers. I would say the average age is in the 50's.

If somebody drives like an idiot, they are asked to leave. I've never actually seen anybody kicked out.

If you want to start off stress free, then I recommend the Better driving day at Cadwell Park every June. You go into a group based on your ability. I went into the top group and it was really good. There was a 78 year old lady in the third group driving her Mini
It costs about £250 but is worth every penny. You get to do your own thing after about 2pm to practice your new skills. Also, Cadwell Park is arguably the best course in the UK.

It's Cadwell Park and £200 this year

Cheers folks. Useful to know from people who have been and tried it first hand.

Just pulled the trigger on a set of 18's with Michelin tyres to go on the E93. Should give a fair amount of grip. Once they arrive I'll book in somewhere for a day at the track

I am and no personally but it depends on where you live.

Regional meets and events are few and far between for my area.

Track days - nothing in my area.

The magazine is rubbish. It is mostly pages of adverts with very little 'members' content despite it proudly stating 'members edition £5' on the cover. Like anyone would pay £5 for it

Insurance - that'll be the only reason for staying but I believe I can get the same cover at the same price without being a member.

Before you join, I'd suggest going along to your local monthly meet and get a feel for it and review the 'members' magazine.

One more,

It's worth it if you want to play on the track days - they are really well organised days and Nick is great at what they do.

The mag is crap.
