Help with tire size for 19" wheel
Hi Guys
Need your help and expertise. I have an e92 m sports 2007. I am planning to upgrade my 18" OEM to 19" after market wheels. Not sure what size of tires to go with, without causing any rubbing while closing the gap as much as possible. I currently have run-flats which I tend to switch to normal ones on 19" wheels. RFTs are 225/40/R18 front and 255/35/R18 Rear. Not sure about the offset but I guess it's stock ET30. Please advise. Regarding the wheels, I quite like the BBS Super RS, the classic look, but they are far too expensive for my budget . I have however my eyes set on Ispiri CSR3 or not so classic Dotz Mugello. It be extremely chuffed if someone could share their e92 pictures with either of these wheels Ispiri: 8.5×19″ 5×112 ET45 | 5×120 ET35 -- Front 9.5×19″ 5×112 ET38 | 5×120 ET33 -- Rear Please share your expertise Many Thanks |

Standard size rubber for those wheels would be 235/35/19 up front and 265/30/19 in the back. If you want to go for more of a stance'd look I would suggest one step down in tire width to 225 and 255 respectively.
Also "it be extremely chuffed", please do elaborate! |

If this helps, I just upgraded to 19" wheels from my 18s. Here are my old and new sizes. The rears will be a 3% difference (speedo), but only starts to matter near 90mph. And I calculated that might only change my mileage by <40 miles per year.
Front: OEM: 225/40/18 New: 235/35/19 Rear: OEM: 255/35/18 New: 275/30/19 Here is a tire size calculator that might help you http://www.tyresizecalculator.com/ New offset is around 35 I believe.

Nice... 275 at rear, do you have the fenders rolled? Is the offset same for both front and rear? I'm struggling to find wheels with 30ish offset , never tried using spacers.. |

19x8.5 ET35 up front, 19x9.5 ET40 out back on mine. Slight rubbing on the front when full lock turning in reverse, which isn't a big deal. Never noticed it driving forward even on a tight parking lot turn. |

Your wheels won't fit. Wrong lug pattern. You need 5x120.
Wheel sizes should be 19x8.5 et30 front 19x9.5 et35 rear Tires 235/35-19 front 275/30-19 rear. That's my current setup with no rubbing on a 2008 e93 335I lowered front, 1/2" rear more than stock sport suspension, m3 control arms, kwv2 coilovers, stock camber, Michelin PSS. You can probably get a set of 19" aftermarket M rims for around $800.00 to $900.00 from a reputable seller. Tires - best tire for your money is the Continental DWS 06. 235/35/19 - front 255/40/19 - rear Probably run you about $1,000.00 by the time you get them mounted, balanced and get a warranty on them. |

I did mention that stud pattern 5 x 120 ... :S yeah and that's what I was thinking on getting non-RFT 235/35 front and 275 at back.. as long as no dreadful rubbing... I should really be thinking about lowering as well... guess it'll come next on my to do mods... |

Before you worry about the wheels...take that M badge off first!

One more thing, If I decide to go up a size on the tire profile, will it give a more stance'd look?
Front from 235/35/r19 to 235/40/r19 Rear from 265/30/r19 to 265/35/r19 will these fit on the wheels width 8.5 (front) and 9.5 (Rear)? and what kind of offset would you recommend? I am trying to achieve the most stance'd look on stock m-sport suspension. Thanks |
