Anyone Powdercoated 313 19" Wheels?

Just wondering if anyone has refurbed their 313 wheels in a more standard colour instead of the diamond cut finish?

I have a bit of corrosion and stone chip marks. I know it's pretty expensive to get all 4 wheels done. Ideally powdercoating may give a bit more protection long term, as I plan of keeping the car at least 5 more years.

Mine have been done in black chrome by the wheel specialists in Birmingham. Think they look really good and have had plenty of positive feedback and they do give a sort of OE look.

Some pics HERE in my for sale thread

A few years back, I had a set done in gloss black. It was a cheap Citypowdercoaters job in Birmingham but for £80, I was super impressed! Some flaws upon close inspection but when fitted to the car, you would never know

That looks really smart.

Don't get me wrong I love the diamond cut but it's corroding, starting to look a little dull now and suspectable to chipping easy so I fancy perhaps a fresh powdercoat finish

I know what you mean. The 313s are amazing when they are and cleanly diamond cut but when they corrode, they can get ugly quick. If you want to stick close to the oem look a shadow chrome would be good. I've even tried silver before and you can't tell too much difference

Don't suppose you have a photo of when they were silver do you?

Mines a black car so really it is between shadow chrome or silver at the moment.

Had my 313s done in shadow chrome. Black base coat with a silver top coat. Diamond cut is nice but doesn't last long. The best I could get was 6 months warrenty on a diamond cut finish

Can you not just get them painted 2 tone ie ferric grey backs & silver faces??

It would look OEM but last better

Yeah I think ideally a close to OEM colour, perhaps a little lighter would be my ideal choice. Somewhere between shadow chrome and silver.

I suppose the difference would be noticeable if you compared the diamond cut to this finish side by side but otherwise, when fitted to the car they look great.

Thanks for the photo. They look nice in silver but I am starting to think they lose a little bit of aggression especially looking at the last photo I posted of them against a Black E92 Coupe.

I am leaning towards a more shadow/smoked chrome like this now...

I'm having the same problem. I'm blaming these crappy London roads. Let me know what you decide to do.

Anyone know the paint code that BMW use to refurb the 313's in standard grey? Slight mark on one of mine and would like to touch up

Will do mate. I do want to try keep it oem looking but without going too silver but at the same time not too dark.

Went to my local refurb shop earlier and saw this on the wall which is shadow chrome, edging towards this one as I think it's a really nice colour.

Cheers they do look good.

They were done in black chrome by the wheel specialist in Birmingham.

Ferric grey can be nice but sometimes can look a little bronze under sunlight from some photos I have seen.

I am hoping the shadow chrome is a happy medium, I want to keep it somewhat oem looking.

This is a nice example. Keeps the OEM look but with lasting protection over diamond cut finish.
