N47 Swirl Flap Bung Dimensions?
Has anyone got a drawing or any sizes for the N47 swirl flap blanking bung?
I have a mate that can turn one down for me so just need a drawing or some dimensions he can use? Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

If you can wait until this evening I have the actual plastic spindle holder sat on a shelf in my garage, I can measure it tonight and take pics.

I have fitted the bung that's available on eBay. My only criticism is that it is the same size(width) as the plastic spindle holder - however, IMO the plastic spindle has always felt quite 'loose' when fitted, consequently the bung does too, it seems to seal ok though.
The bung has o rings on it, so slightly fatter o rings might help to get a tighter fit. Once the bung/spindle is installed it cannot pop out as the electronic actuator sits behind it, that's why it's important to get the correct length. The length of the ebay bung is spot on!

also the bit on the end of the plastic ebay bung that locates in the hole the actuator rod went through seems important as it helps centre it all when installing, also on the intake manifold when removing the swirl flaps there are 2 fixed veins of plastic you need to snap off to get the flaps out, i was a little dubious as to snapping them in case they had some special task, but had no issues with them removed and been driving the car over 500 miles now, with swirl flaps deleted, all seems hunky dory

Sorry for not getting back to you, I'm not sure but it looks like the length of the plastic actuator spindle might be shorter than the 'ebay bung' I can't confirm this though without taking the actuator off again and I'm lacking the time at the moment to check.
bhurd320 Haha I can beat that. I've done around 30,000 miles since I removed the flaps on mine, no issues
