The BMS JB just got better!!
So since i am the first BMS customer to run the prototype JBX i thought i would write about my experience with it so far...
I went over to see Terry tonight and he removed the "R" switch and replaced it with the JBX... It has a toggle switch on top like a standard "R" switch and then on the front there is a dial you turn to adjust the "H" going from zero "H" all the way to "HH" max so you can run 1.00-1.25-1.50-1.75-2.00-"H" with a turn of the dial and raise boost or lower it depending on what you want and what fuel you are running. So after the install we went for a drive with the "R" switch off and the dial set at zero "H", so the car was just running about 11-12 psi on the JB2.. We pulled over and while the car was running raised up the "H" to 1.50 and drove again, this time seeing boost at around 13-14 psi... We pulled over again and flicked on the "R" switch (i am on straight 100oct) and got 15psi steady until close to redline where it starts to taper down... It spiked here and there into 16psi and then back down to 15psi but did not go higher on those settings, the car pulls like a bullet train and now that i have the DR's on all the time i keep traction throughout first and second gear! It is a success IMO! Terry said he will make the wires longer so people can route the switch into the glove box so you can raise the "H" on the fly, basically allowing you to raise and lower boost whenever you want without having to touch wires or resistors and not even having to open the hood, Very easy to use user settings!! Thanks again Terry!! |

How about a 0 H to 3 H dial for crazy dudes like me?
Ah I guess I can just get the JBX and mod it like I modded my R switch

I wonder why the R is not incorporated into the toggle, so you can manipulate the level of boost from basic up to race from the toggle, rather than having an R switch under the hood? I guess even putting the switch on the toggle would be preferable, but this is still a nice upgrade on the JB.

Isnt the "H" an Ohm value? if thats the case im pretty sure that a potentiometer is used where you just basically adjust the resistance values. Thats a sweet idea but im just not seeing how it can be done without going under the hood or how a switch comes into play.

I always get power loss just after shifts on my 6at. If I just keep it in 1 gear, it pulls like a monster though. My ECU doesn't seem to like what's happening during shifts with the R...

So now he's upgraded to potentiometers.
Not a bad idea if the pots are stable and don't start adjusting by themselves.
