325i Multiple misfire *videos* Help!!!
Hi Guys,
I'm new to the forum. I bought my 325i Auto 4 months ago and I love it. But recently I have had a problem with the car starting and ticking over fine. when I've driven it for a couple of minutes it starts to misfire and when I come to a stop it shudders and rumbles all over the place. It doesn't cut out and I can rev it above 1500 and it smooths out, but you can still feel the misfire. A friend of mine put his snap-on diagnostic on it and it came back with a misfire on 4,3,5,2 and some other stuff relating to the misfire. So anyway it got really bad yesterday. I switched it off and it started but then cut out. tried to start it 3-4 times and it wouldn't run. I left it for 5mins and boom! it started again and all was ticking over fine. but then I take it for a drive and it starts misfiring again!!! arrrgghhhhh! ![]() here are two videos of the saga lol this is when i've got back from a trip: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0g23ob1oae...20430.mp4?dl=0 This is after i have turned it off for 5 mins and then restart, all seems well again???? https://www.dropbox.com/s/i4oga6kfq7...20842.mp4?dl=0 Any help MASSIVELY appreciated! |

How many miles does the car have? Most likely time for a spark plug an ignition coil change I had 2 coils go bad on me at 75k and 80k respectively and replaced all of them and plugs at 80k for good measure. Had the exact same symptoms you are describing.

Coils. Do the plugs while you are in there. Bad coils can foul plugs.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
