NIZPRO? Believe we've been down that road before without promising results.

The issue really isn't hard parts. We're glazing the F outta the trans since we have no ability to modify clamp pressure. And the factory cooling scheme sucks.

Bingo! You can add friction area and increase part strength all day long. But if you can't increase line pressure this will not get us very far.

6 speed swap or if you are below 450 horsepower the transmission should be able to take the abuse. If you haven't done any maintenance on the transmission (pan/filter, fluid change, mechatronic sleeve) I would try and do that first before running high horsepower. Auto box + big hp usually leads to serious issues, I wouldn't chance it if it was my car.

Well anything over 400 horsepower is going to have some serious torque applied as well, sorry I wasn't more clear, but I totally agree with you. If I can find a used 6 speed trans local for cheap, I may consider doing the swap down the road, then go big single.

So much misinformation in this thread. The auto tranny problems are from all the idiots who were running jb4 with no (or improper) backend flash thinking they could run infinite psi with stock load mapping

What about those running single turbos and having to limit torque to less than 600 and yet they are running a "proper" backend flash? :

That's pretty impressive, I hear you on more power, I'm just afraid once I start going crazy with mods, I won't want to stop.

?

That is rather over-simplified...Understand your point RE: the JB and how it effects reported load and torque, but there are far broader issues which have nothing to do with a JB.

My 6AT calls it a day at 26PSI which is ballpark 550-570WTQ. For whatever that is worth...On the dyno with less load it can deal with appreciably more.
