18" M359s too small?
Hi
Need to get some new wheels as my MV3s are cracked (again!), tried getting hold of MV3 rep via CM Wheels but they're out of stock, they do have M359 wheels, what I'm not sure of is will they look too small in 18"? Thoughts and advice welcome... |

I don't think so. I've gone for 18's in a very similar style for a slightly higher tyre sidewall. Probably a small benefit is a lower unsprung mass as well.

I had 18" CSL reps on my E46 and I always regretted it, they do look to small. IMHO the ones on that black one above also look too small.
The CSL 'style' is a great looking wheel, but it's meant to be a 19 (The black ones on that white E90 above are 19") The dish, and general look does not look right with a smaller rim. I could have taken pics at certain angles that made them look good, but in the flesh they just didn't look right. Anything that looks similar to the CSL style is 19" only IMO. I bought 18" M359's for mine from CM Wheels. Not fitted yet, but i dont think they're too small.
Its a personal thing though. I run 17" winters (steels) and 18" summers. MV3's before and now the 359's as soon as i get a minute to get them sorted out with tyres and fitted to the car. The 19's just have too little tyre for me. Yes, they might look slightly better, but poorer ride and are more susceptible to damage etc. The 18 still looks decent. My brother runs 17's on his (Style 194's) and even those dont look small. Bear in mind, the M3 was sold with 18" wheels, and they look fine. The M3 even runs taller tyres than the normal E90's, which can have the effect of making the wheels look smaller still. |

I have 359s and at the time of purchase I was going through the same dilemma, 18s or 19s.
After seeing two E92s side by side with the same wheel but different size, the decision was very easy at that point. 19s is the way to go for this style of wheel, but you will feel the bumps. |

Those wheels are actually 19" (or more) though not 18", that's why they look really good.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1016076 Another image of 18's from a private listing for sale. I think 18's look better. More like the M car profiles.
