Power distribution box fuse

How do I know if the PDB fuse on top of the battery is dead?
The car is completely stone dead. There's power in the battery, but even when you try to jump the car, it's stone cold.

I'm wondering if this thing is buggered, but I have no idea how to check it? Would BMW have them on the shelf do you think?

See if you can get hold of a multimeter and read each side of the fuse for voltage or alternatively check continuity.

When it was connected up, the recovery guy checked the battery terminals and also the two 13mm nuts covered by little flaps. They all had current. Does that mean it's working?

Just don't understand why the car is stone dead?!

Power cable runs to the JBE. You need to check for continuity there.

Also, the car has an auto-shut off of power in the event of an accident. It is a sensor located on the battery. No matter what you do, if you don't replace this , the car will never start.

You may not have had an accident, but maybe this sensor is faulty.

As above could be a faulty sensor, have you checked all fuses in the fusebox aswell?

I've checked all of the fuses 30A+ in the box in the glove box. Are there any other fuse boxes?

Embarrassed to say that I'd forgotten to wire up the great big red cable that goes in to the battery fuse. Car lives again!!
