HKS BOV, little vacuum filter question..

So basically there is a little filter that comes with your HKS BOV valve, and I was so excited to install my BOV I left out that filter.. I googled and it seems hit or miss, but just figured I'd ask here to see the general consensus on whether or not you installed it or left it out..

I'm also not running one, but my valve seems to leak intermittently under boost. I don't think it's related but I thought I would throw it out there.

How did you presume it to be leaking, logs..?? I want to data log my car to check for boost leaks but not sure which route is best.. I've heard MHD monitor isn't the greatest, but I don't have JB4, so what's my best option..??

Thanks!

MHD works great for me. Boost was a couple psi under target and a smoke test confirmed. Will disassemble tomorrow and clean.

Installed, works great. The BOV is very responsive.

What map are you running.. I'm FBO minus an intercooler so figured Stage 1 is probably all I could safely run, on 93 only..

yes it is very, it sounds bad ass at high rpms too..

I ran stage 2 with stock intercooler for a while but the weather was cold put. I am now FBO and running stage 2 93. As far as the bov leak, I found that one of the m3x.5mm machine screws had fallen out (so check them often). I bought a replacement and went ahead and used black rtv around the o ring as extra insurance. I'll report back how it goes.

Yes. Everything is good now. Here's a log from version 5. I then flashed 6.1 and boost is just about perfect now.http://www.datazap.me/u/yournamehere90/v5-stage-2
