When I try to turn them on only the wipers move. I hear no motor trying to push water. I checked the fuse box and it said number 48. There's no fuse! Duuhh that's the problem, NOT! I put a fuse in(correct amperage) and still nothing. I'm so confused and my hands are too big to put a multimeter in there.
Just plugged in my Schwaben tool and I got a code, A6D3. What should I do? Motor burnt out? UPDATE Using my Schwaben I was able to find the activation for the washer motor. When I do the windshield nothing happens, when I do the headlight washer(don't have them) I hear a relay click over. Bad relay?

Why are you asking this in the stereo section
Why are you asking this in the stereo section.
Are you using the correct fuse map for your year of car? Was is working before? Check fluid and Hoses would be my first step. |

People either pull the fuse or code the headlamp washers (assuming your car did originally have them which is a possibility and the bumper was replaced) to be inactive (clean car mod). Sometimes these amatures can do it wrong when deleting the pumps or maybe those pumps need to be worked every so often or they get gummed up (assuming washer fluid was in them when they were coded off years ago) with old fluid and 'algae'. Yes they have been an issue with algae/mold build up in the E90 washer system that blocks the fluid and create havoc on that entire system. Looks like you are going to have to get inside the passenger fender and do some work! It isn't easy to DIY and it isn't cheap! BTW wrong section for this ish!

More likely a clog or disconnect than electrics
More likely a clog or disconnect than electrics.
Pull hose just behind the spray nozzle and activate to see if any fluid comes out. Remove hose from pump activate and see if fluid comes out then. "Windshield washers spray a very low volume of fluid, or no fluid at all. The strainer (arrow) on the windshield washer fluid pump may become clogged by debris or an algae-like substance. The algae-like substance is typically caused by using non-approved washer fluid or straight water in the washer fluid reservoir. To replace strainer: • Remove washer fluid pump, located in lower part of right front wheel well. • Drain existing washer fluid in reservoir and properly discard. • Replace strainer, which is installed on end of pump. An updated strainer has a larger mesh to avoid future occurrences. • Refill washer fluid reservoir with BMW washer fluid at specified concentration. 611 " from shop manual Do the wipers work? Do the headlight washers open? Last edited by ctuna; 04-18-2016 at 02:27 PM.. |

I do. It says that fuse 48 is the one for washer pump, washer pump heat, and headlight washers, but there isn't a fuse there.

Fuse 48 is only for the headlamp washers.
Fuse 48 is only for the headlamp washers.
See diagram in previous post I added the circuit diagram the main pump motor does not appear to be fused. Well at least fused by itself. See the diagram it looks like f50 runs it and a bunch of other stuff. Last edited by ctuna; 04-19-2016 at 02:18 AM.. |
