Bmw N55 Jb4 Maps? Which do I use?

just recently bought a JB4 and confused on what map to run?

my only mods are VRSF 7" FMIC, VRSF DP, and ER CP on 93.

Will be adding a Catback Exhaust and an Intake soon.

Thanks.

Map 2 or map 5. No point for a catback exhaust it doesn't add power if that's why you're doing it. If you have the flex fuel wires you can run up to E30, just log your runs to see how the car is doing.

You have almost as many mods as you can anyway. These cars really don't have much for mods. 4-5 simple items and your "FBO" LOL........

Cold air intakes is all that's marketed. Not true intake manifolds.

I'm eventually looking to do a Pure stage 2 upgrade but for the mean time I'm good with what i have, I want an exhaust to get a louder exhaust note, downpipe and stock exhaust aint cutting it for me, also doing the PPK flash. and I'm doing an intake just to get the whoosh sound, I'm aware that with the intake and catback there are no performance gains.

Thanks guys, whats the difference between Map 2 & Map 5?

map 2 is set to 14psi and map 5 is auto tuned to the climate, mods, etc.

You can't halfass the installation or usage of a device that's going to trick your DME

I have similar mods with an intake and I run map 5, just give it time to adapt to the mods or give it a few wot runs in 3rd gear for it to adapt sooner.

+1

There's a manual that describes all this, I would read it as these maps are all described well and there's also a lot of really cool features you could miss out on.

If a downpipe and any exhaust isn't loud enough for you, don't be moving to my street.

Map 0: Stock bypass.
Map 1: 13psi. Suggested for most racing applications.
Map 2: 14.5psi. Suggested for those with exhaust and 93 RM2 or higher octane.
Map 3: Progressive meth mapping with flow sensor failsafe. See guide to enable. Meth use isn't supported/suggested without a flow sensor and map 3.
Map 4: Stock map w/ CAN active. Allows full logging and in dash gauges on the stock mapping.
Map 5: Autotuning map. Boost ranges between 12-17psi based on your cars octane, conditions, and modifications. Fully E85 compatible. If using E85 we suggest around 30% to start. Refer to the E85 FAQ for addl info. Resets to 93 octane level adaptions when selected and adjusts itself up or down from there.
Map 6: User defined map generally only used for diagnostics or troubleshooting.
Map 7: Race gas map. 18.5psi peak boost on the G5 ISO. Requires straight 100-104+ RM2 octane unleaded racing fuel. The expensive stuff. We do not suggest using leaded racing fuel. To use this map with E85 requires the BMS E85 back end flash, inline booster fuel pump, and a 40%+ E85 mix, per E85 FAQ.
