Autodip Quick Review
Haven't seen too many reviews of this stuff, so I thought I'd chip in. It is supposed to be like plastidip, but vinyl based and glossy. The stuff is fairly pricey at ~23 a can, plus the hazardous material shipping. So you'd hope it would be pretty decent. I wanted to give it a shot, so I ordered one can to test on my mirrors.
So the positives are that it really is gloss black.I haven't tested the removability, but will probably be trying that soon. Now the negatives. You will not get a good surface with this product. If you apply it lightly, it will have heavy orange peel. If you apply it a little more heavily (which does reduce the orange peel), you realize it is fairly inviscid, i.e. it runs extremely easily. Coming off of this, it does not fill very well. Any imperfections in the surface will cause the paint to run around it, require additional coats to cover it, and creating additional imperfections. As a result, when you put it on the car, it looks very out of place. I will let it sit, but am planning on removing it and replacing it with a wrap when I get my roof done. Overall, I do not recommend this product. I could only recommend it for someone wanting a removable gloss black on their grills, as you could vinyl wrap everything else. Edit: No idea what's going on with my pictures Last edited by Shrike360; 04-26-2016 at 01:21 AM.. Reason: Picture issues note |

My buddy just bought some of this stuff in bronze and used it on his wheels, turned out great. I'd never heard of it before, but I was impressed.

The pictures don't really show it very well. For example, along the mirror lines the bumpiness is very obvious when walking up to it. The base is really bad, but isn't in a visible location. It is also worth pointing out I am obsessive with paint, the difference between the cap and the gloss of the mirror edge cover is noticeable.
I heard it suggested that this stuff is sandable. I'll let the stuff cure fully, then I'll try a sand and polish. If that doesn't work, well, I'm pulling it off anyway. |

I never heard of this brand before I went to Autcon. They were selling these for $23 per can. I thought about doing my wheels but with my laziness, it would probably turn out terrible. They used the gold on the rims. Supposedly it was a year old or so and it still looked great. I guess if you have the patience, do the prep work etc. it might turn out great. If anyone uses this on their rims post up your review.

Saw it at Autocon as well, its got a totally different feel than plastidip all together. Guess it makes sense since its vinyl based. However one guy at the booth told me that rim that was pained for show was 5 months gold. 1 minute later the other guy was saying 6 months. We kinda doubled back across the booth and I heard one of them say a year. So I can only assume they sprayed that bitch last night lol.
One of my friends and a forum member got 2 cans of the bronze though, we'll see how it turns out.

Lol 23$ is cheap. It's 45$ shipped to Canada... Plus their ship date was late.
The product drips insanely fast. But the overall finish was well worth it. Plasti dip is legitimate garbage. |

Better than autoflex? I'd say no. It's a plastidip alternative.
