M3 shocks and strut conversion?

Hey guys. I've been having issues with a rough and terrible ride. I feel like I'm in one of those lowered honda civics with wheels that are diagonal with like 0.5cm of thread. I got 110k miles on my car, I have switch my wheels, tires, front control arms to M3 ones, got it road forced balanced and all that. I switched my front right and left struts to the Bilstein B4's and still have stock rear shocks. Is my shocks and struts the issues? That is what I'm thinking since they are two different types and my rear's may be gone. If this is the issue, is there any way to put M3 struts and shocks on my 2007 bmw e90 sport suspension sedan or should I just get the Bilstein HD's or oem's. Thanks for the help.

335i can only wish to have the suspension travel capability of even a super low Honda.
To answer you question M3 struts and shock are not compatible with non M e9x Comfort comes from the rear so if your rear shocks are blown it will feel as driving down a stairway.

some have done m3 shocks (rear) but it requires m3 lower control arm at a minimum. haven't heard of a successful front conversion.

m3 tension struts are a tradeoff: great steering response and precision but some ride harshness and road noise.

did you replace lower shock mounts and upper strut mounts when you installed bilsteins?

Yes I did replace my lower and upper strut mounts. I think it may be my rear shocks. I will go ahead and get the Bilstein HD's struts and shocks, and replace the rear upper and lower mounts as well and see if that does it.

Even front is possible and been done but is pointless to discuss it on this thread.
OP just so you know is impossible that you have replaced both upper and lower strut mounts since there are not any lower strut mounts.
If you are replacing the rear go with new OEM lower mounts since aftermarket will increase NVH.
Also Bilstein HD are not the best for confort judging by what I have test driven upon installation at the shop.
My personal preference are Koni FSD

fwiw I replaced my lower shock mounts with oem made by Meyle and they were fine, definitely more comfortable than the original high miles mounts I took off.

op why not do b4s in the rear?

What kind of road noise are you referring to? I have the TRW M3 front and lower control arms and it's making a knocking down everytime I go over a bump. The sound is so annoying.

stiffer bushings amplify nvh. more tire noise, noise over bumps, steering feedback etc. I think this particularly true for the tension struts.

i have the rear m3 arms and think the same can be said, but less noticeable as the nvh is more in the seat than front steering.
