They're mostly annoying marketing including the guy that does most of the youtube videos but they do have some good stuff. They have 57 different types of soaps which sums up their company in a nutshell.

Annoying marketing.. Pretty much every detail product ever.

Also, they only wash cars that are clean to begin with when demonstrating their products (not that others don't use the same trick). I prefer real world tests by the common man

I've used their products solely, for the past three years. I can say that all of the products I've used have been fantastic. Most outperform Meguire's, Mother's and especially Armor All. I've used the other three brands and won't ever go back. The ECO-Smart solution is great for weekly maintenance, if the front end isn't covered in bugs and the car isn't smeared with tar. I use it on all of my cars and get a nice, just waxed look, since there is a wax in the solution. The different products have their places, depending on use and need, just like other detailing product manufacturers. I've used Hybrid V07, Honeydew Snow Foam (with foam cannon), and Mr. Pink soaps. I would have to say that the Honeydew Snow Foam with my foam cannon is a great way to pull dirt away from the surface and lubricate the finish so there is little to no chance of scratching. I have also used the black on black aerosol, and can tell you it's a great product, when applied correctly. The Sprayable Leather that they offer is an awesome product that I use constantly when I detail the interior. The leather interior seems to get some new life back into it after it cleans and conditions in one solution. The streak free glass cleaner is awesome too. All of these products are what I use for car show event prep and general maintenance.

Yes they do have more "clean" cars than dirty, however they are doing tutorials as well as selling their products. If you watch the ECO-smart video or the headlight restoration video, or the dirty Porsche, parts 1 and 2, you'll see they work on dirty cars too. I know I'll probably get the "you're a fanboy" posts after this, but what can I say. I love their products that I use on a regular basis for the past three years.

I only buy Chemical Guys products and have had nothing but success in getting what I am looking for from their product. They have some base cleaners/polishes but they also have some higher end stuff (V series polish, V07 soap/detailer, paste waxes) that do wonders on paint. Interior, exterior, engine bay... they have all needed to make the car as clean as you want to get it. Their pricing is very good too, so how can people say they are in it for the money? Sure, every business needs to be profitable but the price you pay for their product is very good.

Chemical Guys is what I started with when I began my serious detailing and washing regimens. They have good products and good info, but so many overlapping items that accomplish the same thing so it was a bit confusing. I would definitely stay away from CG for paint correction because I just really didn't like their compounds or pads. I switches to Menzerna cut and polish with Meguiar's pads and it's like a whole different world!

After I started to make a little more money and had interest in trying what else is out there, I stumbled across Griot's and Adam's. I feel that Griot's has good pricing and I use a ton of their wheel cleaners and interior cleaner. Adam's pricey, but very consistent and predicable. They also have a good base product line so it's not confusing at all. If they have a sale, it's definitely worth checking out! Adam's shampoo is my favorite.

I have a question regarding V36 and V38. If i use v36 on white pad, should i be using V38 on black pad for finishing? Thanks!!

Yes that should be appropriate assuming it's the right combo for your paint condition.

Og clay bar / v36 / v38 / glassworkz glaze / jetseal / pete's 54 wax

Wasn't hugely impressed with their products. Kept a few Meguiars products, and added a mix of Sonax.

The sheer amount of products they offer is overwhelming. Some are a bit redundant, but I guess its smart from a business perspective. Like any brand, some of their products are great while others average

From the comments in this Youtube it is clear everyone knows that CGs is doing it.

From the comments it looks like not only do they rebrand from Warner/InstaFinish, but they relabel one product to do multiple things...

So whereas my 1 step wash and detail instant detailer (from Adams I think got it in a Details Domain grab bag) has 4 different levels to cut it for Clay bar/Instant Wash/detail spray... Chemical Guys will sell you 4 different items that are all the same just diluted differently.

I have a lot of CG that I'm not using.

I've used Zaino primarily for 20 yrs, Sonax Wheel Cleaner (the Beast works well), Added Gtechniq recently.

I like Maxi Suds. Took me ages to go through my first gallon and I finally bought another gallon this year. I see the thing about re-branded detail products, but the Megs Gold Class is not the same stuff at all. Way thinner.

But honestly I don't use any other CG gear.

They are over rated and expensive. Try to check other brands.
