SCCA FS/STU/STX Video Thread
I figured I'd start a thread where we'd post our autox videos, for viewing pleasure.

Good stuff, how did you end up? Also, what tires are you on? I'm just getting back into autocross after taking a break in 2015. I just ran my first two events on RE-71Rs, very impressed!
One of my recent events:

Awesome job. It's hard to be on the sharp end of the results sheet without the Stones or BFGs these days it seems. I can't wait to get out on a road course with them.
I'm pretty sure my lateral G numbers are inflated from the AiM SOLO with the windshield mounting point and comical body roll in my car. But comparing to previous data at the same venue, I had never registered 1.3 Gs on any other tire like I did in the final right hander before the finish. Greatness!

The SCCA courses look like a whole different animal than our local BMWCCA runs, significantly faster (or I'm just that slow). Running with the local Miata Club this weekend, and another Windy City BMWCCA event next weekend.

Vid from my most recent (non-SCCA) event. The GPS file from the AiM got dorked up, so I just used the RPM, gear, throttle and boost from the COBB for the overlay. I might be missing a 3rd pedal, but does it really matter when you never have to shift?

SCCA courses at Nat'l events will always be much, much faster than Windy City Miata events, if for no other reason space and philosophy. Your max speed was right at 40 whereas they will push 65-70 at events. They won't have the painful turn arounds you had and the flow will be much better. At tours, the issue often is whether the transition past 60-65 is appropriate. I'd seriously suggest hitting events at Rt. 66 with the Chicago SCCA region where you will get a fair closer experience to what I'm talking about.

Hello all! First auto-x in my "new to me" 330i MT sport pkg, bone stock, but my co-driver (Clay Brubaker) offered up his wheels (lighter 18's with RE-71R's) as his FS 335i is down on power (HPFP or boost leak).* Clay was faster by almost a full second.
Rider is my wife, who was a nervous mess! [IMG][/IMG]

Here's a STU run from a few months ago. The course really did not fit the xi well, I also never got a good feel for a few or the corners (especially the one after the first salom). The front end washes out so much under any power on xi, the long sweepers were not good for it.
This was on my old 189 wheels w/ ZII star specs 245 square. Now I'm on Arc-8s which saved me 14lbs per corner (I weighed them) and 255 square R-S3s. Disclaimer: I am no pro, nor claim to be. ![]()
