LED foglight question, projector vs halogen..

So I'm buying an m3 rep, and I'm keeping the fogs, but I plan on using LED fogs as I don't feel like installing HID's for them and I'm just curious if it makes a difference whether or not the LED fogs are used in a halogen setup or a projector setup..?

Do projectors produce more of a beam, given that they have a projector lens.??

Would an LED fog-light bulb in a halogen lens produce a large blur as opposed to a direct beam of light..??

I'm on the fence about which bumper I want to order because some have a halogen setup and others have a projector setup, and since they're about the same price I just figured I'd ask first to see some pros/cons of each...

Thanks!

So I ordered the projector fogs with my bumper and I suppose I'll try to find some nice bright lights for them.. I really like yellow fogs, but apparently that's frowned upon in the BMW community because I guess a Honda did it once..? lol..

So the foglights died in less than a week lol, and they were weak af to begin with, weren't even as bright as my stock angel eyes.. So I'm thinking perhaps I'll throw some LED's in there, now just to find a set that's worth the $$$ and will fit into the projector housing..

Yeah bro, literally 4 days into having my new bumper installed I got a fog light error on the dash and was like, "oh great stupid canbus error" and I got out and looked and sure enough one of the bulbs was out already!

I emailed the company yesterday but haven't gotten a reply yet..

But I'm not sure on the depth of the projector lens and a lot of the H3 LED bulbs look pretty long, like they'd bottom out against the housing.. So I'm not sure what everyone else with M3 rep projector fogs is running, but I'd like them to be pretty damn bright if possible..

Nothing wrong with yellow fogs. I use them on my car. With projectors the yellow fogs will be really subtle.

If you want good output, get an HID kit. This is coming from someone that has an arsenal of high output LED options available and still runs an HID Kit.

I'm wondering if an HID kit will work on these M3 rep projectors.. I read somewhere that they are too shallow inside the housing for a deep HID bulb, but idk if that person was full retard or if it was legit lol..

I used to have HID in my m3 rep projectors with no problems. But because the housing lens is made of glass, one of them cracked not too long after I got it. I have since replaced them with ducts and they look much better than fogs.

Lot more full retards then legit peeps.

In all seriousness, not sure to be 100% but I can talk to HPB about the length of their HID bulbs in comparison to a standard halogen and see what they said if you're interested.

I'm def interested in that still.. Finally home and able to mess with my car, but lighting is my first obstacle.. I searched into those H3C bulbs as well, some do some pretty legit..

air ducts for m3 rep bumper?

Any info where could find the air ducts for m3 replica bumper?

My m3 rep bumpers H3 fog died too in a few days maybe some crap

Kai
