What fuel are you running? On Ethanol mix depending on the fuel scalar the ECU might be reducing the fuel flow. Does it throw any fault codes. In general pressure bellow 50 is not good. Should be above 70.

If that is straight pump gas, then I would say that the LPFP is on its way out. should be rock solid on pump gas without any drop. Looks like it is time for a replacement or upgrade!

You can look at one of my previous threads..
I was having HPFP tanking and my LPFP was dipping into mid 40's. I bought a LPFP from Chris@BoostConcepts and my fueling issue is perfect. |

Anyone know how to make the car throw a LPFP code? My logs are showing 48-52psi at WOT so I know my pump is dying. It's not throwing a code though so I can't warranty it yet. Can I just pull the plug to it? I have t really messed with that pump at all.

+1 for Chris at Boost Concepts, his customer service is top notch and has very detailed step-by-step instructions to install the kit on your own with a quality design and all the materials you need. I even made a couple of rookie errors and he was there to help and responded super fast.

So just an update Ive installed a new stage 2 lpfp and i did 4 logs today but the lpfp still seems to dip low to 59psi. could a brand new hpfp be bad i got it installed last year and drove with it maybe 3 month before the car was parked or would i be better replacing the lpfp sensor ? Ive attached the most recent log.

I just reviewed your log and if you are referring to the peaks and valleys that isn't indicative of your actual pumps performance. basically a mean avergae of those would be where the performance of the pump would be.. there is a decent swing on some cars due to whatever reason, most likely a combination of both the fuel pressure regulator, the pulses from the HPFP inlet side etc.. your LPFP looks perfectly fine. in the datazap log you posted.
you can actually see the requested lpfp pressure line and it draws a straight line through the center of all the peaks and valleys of the datalog. you are perfectly fine.. the fuel pump controller may learn in a little bit more as well as it has more time and varying conditions to gather data and adjust. I wouldn't be surprised if after a week or two those swings were much much smaller as the controller voltage output is closer to where it needs to be for that pumps flow. Chris |
