cd player stopped working

So driving today and my CD player has stopped working, it won't recgonise that a disc is inserted and won't eject the disc either. Everything else related to the ccc i drive works fine.

Worst case senerio is that the head unit will have to replaced. Can these be replaced on there own or are they paired with the idrive unit.

if the headunit can be replaced on its own is it plug and play or does it need to be coded?

its an 08 plate e92 330d

It's all one unit.

I've still got my old CCC setup as the previous owner did the CIC upgrade. Could sell it if interested?

Thanks for the offer but it is working now. It just goes to show how awake i was yesterday as i could of sworn i was listening to the the cd driving in the morning.

I told my mrs about in the evening and she told me that she took the CD out the day before when she used my car for 10mins cos she couldn't figure out how to change to the radio.

No wonder it couldn't read or eject...there was no CD inserted to do either...Women eh
