Good timing, considering that they basically said FU to all BMW customers. Get the latest DME update and the thing is a paper weight. I'm sooo hoping that MHD finishes their digging into the N55. They obsoleted the Cobb and bimmmer boost flashes already for N54, and don't handicap their clients to make an extra buck.

Figures.......Why BMW needed to make yet ANOTHER revision on the 2015 DME update is beyond me... There was NOTHING wrong with the 98GOB ECU.

There is a way to get back to 98GOB (link), but it does have some challenges

Agreed.

I won't buy another Cobb product for my BMW. I'll wait as patiently as ever for MHD cause it'll happen by next year most likely.

Yeah but how else can you load a BEF on N55 at the moment?

From my understanding, via Cobb is the only way.

Sorry, I'm new to all this but I was just about to buy a a Cobb for my 2007 335i, but after reading these posts I'm unsure. Are you saying the Cobb is not worth getting anymore?

I'll look into MHD, but I did like the seeming simplicity of the Cobb. Is this obsolete talk, only regarding the N54 or only the N55?

cheers.

Kinda makes sense. Isn't Cobb pulling out of the N55 market?

Can't you return it to the vendor ?

Even if there is a restocking fee, it would be less of a loss, then the current MAP reduction.

When was that announced? Did I miss it? They have been saying it should be out in June last I heard. They weren't going to make any improvements, but they were going to make it compatible with the latest firmware.

I'd talk to Cobb direct as they'd know for sure.

Do as Geoff says, contact COBB and ask, but all the word on the street is they are dropping N55 support, dev, research etc

I reached out to Cobb and they responded within 24 hours. Said they have a full team dedicated to fixing this issue and it should be about a month until it is released. They did stress they are planning on supporting this and fixing it.

Nothing but great customer service from them at this point.

Good to hear. I'm glad they stepped up. Tired of hearing people complain Cobb isn't "supported" when it really is.

Are they going to keep supporting N55 into the near future? Or just fix this problem then dump support and updates.

Good question. I did not ask that. For now all I know is they're going to fix current issues...
