E90 No sound from speakers. MOST problem?
so here goes:
I have hifi not logic 7 no I drive professional hu, no fuse on amp, Bluetooth with auxiliary in middle cup holder area. was on a trip and using a DC converter when (unknown if coincidence) my speakers stopped working as well as my 12v fuse blew I replaced the fuse and 12v works but no audio sound at all. checked the radio fuses (all 3) all are good. couldn't find anything burnt or anything. thought it was my amp, bought a replacement (exact model) plugged it in and still nothing. then thought the mulf unit went out, bought a optical jumper and jumped the fiber optic to the unit (in trunk under mat in middle), nothing. I had a spare stereo HU (aftermarket) and adapter so I plugged in just the speaker cables from the HU and left my stock HU connected at the same time and still no sound ( not my HU i guess). the one thing is that there is no light from the fiber cable that goes to the HU, so what else is in the MOST loop? am I missing something somewhere? also a OBD code report: Quote:
I dont want to take it to the dealer for $180 just to diagnose it. |

There should belight shinning out of at least

one side of the head unit Most connection. Additional Most modules if you have them such as satellite module . What about jumping the most right at the radio . The speakers should measure 3.2 ohms for the doors and 2 for the floors at the amp connection. The radio has a fuse in the rear of the unit as there is both a radio and amp fuse at the junction box to I believe. f34 is the amp fuse in early years changing to f8 radio f11 in early years changing to f14 Last edited by ctuna; 05-12-2016 at 08:17 PM.. |

Bluetooth with a TCU or Mulf , compact disk cassete player and satellite module are all the pomposity's I am aware of. There is no order but the radio/idrive is the server. |

If you don't have a TCU the Most could be turned off
If you don't have a TCU the Most could be turned off
because there would be no need for it. TCU= telephone control unit replaced but mulf in later years. Print out your rad file and see it ring status says nicht activ that would be one explanation for no light coming out of the radio most connection If there is a mulf and the most bus is turned on there should be light coming out of the radio most connector. Where is says prep it means the wiring is in place but there is no module. |

An e9x vehilce is very limited for most bus units.
Sdars (satellite), CCC/CIC/RAD 2, M-ULF, AMP, TCU Don't believe there would be any other options that use the fiber optics. If you jumped all the control units, checked for power at the headunit (Most gateway) that generates the light its a pretty safe bet that is the issue. From my experience at least. TCU and Headunit are always the first two I check |

If you don't have Logic7, the audio does not go though the MOST bus. Can you read errors off the RAD2 unit?

according to your vin you only have a TCU in the car and the rad 2 on the most bus.
so jumping the MOST would not do anything as they said. The amplifier does get it signals from the rad2. Check your amp make sure there is no water damage to it. May have to remove it. But it seems like its either the rad2 or amp. checked fuse 34 ?(amp) fuse 31 for HU |
