B6's Installed but road noise went up 50%. Help a suspension newbie
Hey guys, after hitting a mega pothole in near total darkness and experiencing a literal explosion I decided the suspension was just not firm enough. I know nothing I do will cause the car to just float over potholes, but combined with the car feeling like it's just bouncing up and down on some roads I installed the B6's.
Now the noise level has jumped a lot. I hear but don't real feel every bump in the road. Is that normal? I'm running non-run flats with 36lbs. all around. I'm going to recheck that everything is tightened correctly. I'm afraid to take my wife out without the CD blaring because the road noise has increased so dramatically. Help suspension gurus!! |

I did the work. Mystery solved. One rear lower shock was under tightened and both front struts had that lower dampening bar that connects to the strut too loose. I guess the moral of the story is drive it until all settles in, then go back a few days later and retighten as necessary.
