Did I lose my PPK tune?

I had PPK on the car from when I purchased it, I put the AP on, and then uninstalled it afterwards since the tunes suck and I wont be getting a protune yet.

I read on there that the Dinan tunes are encrypted so Cobb just puts a stock map on. Does that apply to the PPK too? I still have my 'blurbles' from the exhaust, though I have always had that even with the Cobb tune.

Probably no real way to check is there?

I believe ppk targets a couple more than the stock ~8 psi? I would use a obd or something to see how much boost youre running, if its more than 8-9psi, its ppk.

Just checked with a rev in neutral and engine brake
Still got the blurble
That is a perk of ppk?

Yes, but cobb doesnt affect that, im just directing you to see if rest of the ppk parameters are still in place, easiest one being boost.

What data log program should I use to see this then?
If the blurble is a perk of ppk and not stock wouldn't that be the easiest way to tell?

COBB & PPK

When using the AccessPORT to flash your BMW, it is important to recognize if your car has been previously flash tuned. We always recommend reverting your ECU back to stock before using the AccessPORT to prevent any compatibility issues with previous tuning. The BMW Performance Power Kit (PPK) can be recognized and saved by the AccessPORT and then used during the uninstall process.

The N54 AccessPORT (AP-BMW-001) can also recognize tunes from Dinan, GIAC, and some DimSport flashes. The N55 AccessPORT(AP-BMW-002) can recognize tunes from Dinan and some DimSport flashes. But, because these calibrations are encrypted, they can not be saved by the AccessPORT. Therefore, during the uninstall process, you car will be reverted back to a factory BMW ROM.

I'm surprised you didn't lose the PPK exhaust note with a cobb map.
I went with JB4 just to avoid losing it. Are you sure?

If the PPK was on your car when you installed the Cobb AP then the AP stored the PPK map as your factory tune. When you uninstall the Cobb it will revert back to the PPK.
