How well do you think Dinan is doing??
Since it is the most expensive tune out there, I'm just curious. How many 335's do you think Dinan has flashed since it's release?

They are doing well. The software costs nothing, so all they have to do is pay the tech for the install. Which you pay for, they make 2k+ PROFIT every flash.

I'm in the software business and it's not all profit. Any good software developer requires a hefty salary. I know because I employ several. But they are worth it.

Yes, but I'm pretty sure he has already been paid. Every flash now is profit.

How many people have stupid Jimmy Johnson avatars?
Too many. I don't know why people always want to chime in and bash some tuners. I swear they get pleasure from it.

You apparently. I wasn't bashing anyone. What the hell are you supposed to answer to that question? I believe there are 1,476 people with dinan tunes in the continental US. None of us know how many they have sold. I'm sure they are doing just fine since most people who buy these cars aren't enthusiasts who are going to come looking for tunes or be on this forum for us to hear from them, they will take what ever the dealership can offer them. Which is pretty much Dinan only. |

You're not supposed to know how many people. But I would say that by you saying 4 is too many, would be considered bashing. As you think there should be less then 4 people.

How well do you think Split Second is doing? To answer your question. Obviously, Dinan must be doing pretty well. They've been in business since 1979, LONG before many other BMW tuners were around. They don't only sell 335 flashes either, which is what some of you are making it sound like. They have a wide array tuning options for virtually every BMW platform. Oh, and they also build racing engines for teams competing in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototype class. Apparently there are only 4 people who have bought the flash. What a coincidence, 4 is also the number of people who installed a Procede and never had a limp mode or CEL. Kidding, of course. |

But why wouldn't you just post a poll, asking people which tune they have? Then you at least get numbers. Won't be statistically perfect by any means. Also, it seems that those who get the Dinan flash are less involved/outspoken here on the boards, forums, etc. (there are several others, including myself that do not fit this mold though). I don't know the reason, but I guess they really don't have too many questions because they just get the flash, and they are on their way. Aside from the Helix tune, the Dinan flash is one of the newer tunes on the market, and there are more and more people who are learning about it and getting the flash. How long have the Procede/SSTT been out? I get the impression from the activity on these forums that there has been a gradual increase in those deciding to get the Dinan flash. |

Not only have I seen a trend in more Dinan flashes, but more and more people are deciding to go with the JB and SSTT tunes. All three tunes seem to deliver great power and no hassle. There used to be a time when in the Forced Induction section where you would scroll down the page and all of the threads would be: Procede, Procede, Procede, Procede, Procede, Procede. |

Thanks for not turning this thread into a big argument and debate. Because that was never my intention. I myself was very close to getting Dinan, but backed out at the last minute. The reason, my local Dinan dealer didn't have the latest card from Dinan. That's what he told me anyways. Me being an impulse buyer, I couldn't wait and just went with an SSTT. Price was also a major factor on my decision. Kudo's to you guys for keeping this thread clean and friendly.

IMO, Dinan is doing very well, and they always have been even though there seem to be plenty of haters out there.

if the prices weren't so expensive i would've taken their products. i was gonna get their exhaust but i found out that there is a pipe inside the exhaust pipe which was ugly.
