Bluetooth pairing issues... Updating firmware?

Hi all,

First of all, sorry for posting about an E60 in the E90 forum but this forum is so resourceful it would be a shame not to utilise the knowledge!

My dad is having an issue with his E60 and pairing his LG for telephony.

He has an 2005 E60 with the standard ccc i-drive setup. When he connects his phone the i-drive doesn't resolve his phone name but rather shows it as a list of numbers and letters (I assume it's hardware address). It then disconnects sporadically and is unusable. When I connect my S7 Edge or an iPhone 6s, it resolves the name and holds a stable connection...

I have read that this can be down to "Energy saving bluetooth" modes but I can't find anything on my dads phone to disable this (if it exists).

Does anyone have any advice? I wondered if updating the firmware on the telephony module would perhaps provide better compatibility?

Thanks
Vish

Not sure about the Name display. But sometimes entering a 5 digit passcode instead of a 4 digit passcode helps to keep a phone connection stable.

Thanks for the advice. I will give it a go but we were using 1 digit pass codes without issue on the other phones :/
