Question How to keep wheels clean from brake dust?

First time owning a BMW, and just as it goes fast, it brakes hard. With all this dust, it makes my wheel black in 2 weeks. Anyways on cleaning this wheel or preventing the black stuff on sticking to the wheel?

Thanks

Wheel wax definitely helps. Also, try cleaning them more often. Every few days, I wipe mine down with an MF towel after spraying with Poorboys Spray & Wipe Waterless Wash, even if I don't wash the whole car. It's very easy. Waiting two weeks or more may be too long.

definitely clean them up every few days. I know a bunch of people with BMW's that don't wash their cars often and their wheels are pitted so badly from the brake dust sitting on them. I generally either wash the car or use some quick detailer to clean the wheels up so the brake dust doesn't sit on there, and like everybody above said keeping them waxed definitely helps, but the biggest thing is just keeping up on it.

Some change the pads, but personally on a car that is in warranty and brake jobs are free I wouldn't bother, plus I enjoy cleaning my car every couple days, bonding experience

Best thing for preventing excessive brake is to change your pads to a low dusting pad as other have mentioned.

For maintaining your wheels, I'd strongly recommend applying a coat or two of Poorboy's World Wheel Sealant. This will help provide a barrier of protection on your wheels and makes cleaning them with automotive shampoo and water a breeze. You want to avoid using harsh acidic cleaners on your wheels to prevent oxidation, fading and potentially wearing down your wheels clear coat.

I use Rejex and it works great. Obviously it doesn't prevent brake dust but it does make it easier to clean off either between washes (I use a dry microfiber wash mitt) or during an actual wash.

Rejex is here:http://www.corrosionx.com/rejex.html I ordered it online, but you might be able to find it locally.

Change your brake pads. I did, and the difference is night and day.

Expecting a shipment this week and hopefully a second one by the end of the month / early April. I'd be completely guessing with how many we'd receive in this week since we've never received an entire order due to the high demand.

I bought PB's Wheel Sealant from George a few weeks ago, and noticed a BIG difference. Less brake dust, and when I do wash my wheels, it comes off so much easier.

There's always going to be lots of brake dust on the OEM pads, but I really like the wheel sealant. Can't wait to try some low dusting pads after the warranty period.
