Which Cable Do I need?
Can anyone recommend me a good (reasonably priced) cable to code my 08 E93?
I've seen a ton, but not sure because many people say its a hit or miss if you buy a cheap one. Thanks in advance |

Or you can buy 5 20$ ones off ebay hoping one of them works then return the rest |

Would this unit theoretically work for coding?
http://www.bafxpro.com/obdreader/ It works just fine as an OBDII scanner for my BMW, but it's a little obscure to me if it has the appropriate protocols for coding via NCS Expert. I'm having trouble getting connection with NCS Expert and am trying to figure out if I should just buy the recommended cable or if this SHOULD work and I need to put in some effort on the software/COM setup I guess I can copy paste the relevant part here: "Supports ALL OBD2 Protocols": SAE J1850 PWM(41.6Kbaud) SAE J1850 VPW(10.4Kbaud) ISO9141-2(5 baud init,10.4Kbaud) ISO14230-4 KWP(5 baud init,10.4 Kbaud) ISO14230-4 KWP(fast init,10.4 Kbaud) ISO15765-4 CAN(11bit ID,500 Kbaud) ISO15765-4 CAN(29bit ID,500 Kbaud) ISO15765-4 CAN(11bit ID,250 Kbaud) ISO15765-4 CAN(29bit ID,250 Kbaud) SAE J1939 CAN(29bit ID,250*Kbaud) CAN(11*bit ID,125*Kbaud) |
