I/C upgrade on stock car
Couldn't find any answers with the search function but I imagine that it has been answered before.
I have a 335i born the BMW performance chip. Will installing a larger I/C have any effect? Has anybody experienced turbo lag with an I/C upgrade withput an increase in boost? Another question - Will a JB4 work with my car when it has the performance ECU? I was thinking that the JB4 is based on the car driving with the Stock ECU. It will be unnoticeable. Installing a larger intercooler will only keep intake charge temperatures (IAT's) much lower. Less I/C heat soak during spirited runs through the gears. Less timing pulled. The DME will start pulling timing around the 125-130*F mark of IAT.

The JB4 will set its own boost targets assuming whatever tune you have is a flash tune then yes, you will have no problems.

Yes an upgrades FMIC will make your car run more consistent after the first few pulls. Intercoolers are just an air radiator, small area will not be able to dissipate as much heat as a larger one, thats not to say slap the biggest one you can find on your car and it will be better. Use the search function, there is countless reviews on FMICs. Read up on the n54 ones too, they are all similar or shared products depending on what you buy.
Other question: Its the same flash as the guys with PPK have, just you're car came with it rather than flashing it on after. JB4 will be a power increase, but its not going to be as much as going from a normal non PPK car to JB4. worth it still, yes imo. I have both. The PPK and the JB4 have a lot of overlap in that they change some of the same parameters to make more power, but the sky is the limit with auto tuning and pro tuned JB4s where the factory PPK wont make as much use of other mods such as your FMIC upgrade.

It says "2 verfügbar" now, that means 2 available.
The asking price of 1,560 EURO is the same as Wagner's own shop in Germany but I placed a bid of 1,450 EURO (approx 1,650 dollar) and they accepted. Should have gone lower ![]() Here is the link: http://www.ebay.de/itm/361597202034?...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT |
