Ipod to AUX audio cable.

hi, i tried searching but couldn't find any result.

I am so sick and tired of my car without a ipod adapter. So I thought about this. Would it work if i buy a ipod-aux jack to stick onto my AUX. Here it is on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/3-5mm-JACK-TO-iP...QQcmdZViewItem

Will it show the song name on the I drive? and would I be able to change songs on my I drive?

No you will still have to control it through the iPod itself, it will just allow you to hear the music through your speakers.

you won't get control/song names on your idrive, but the actual cable will definitely work for sound.

Can't you get the dealer to install a glovebox adapter where the stuff will show up on your system's screen? There are definitely some other posts on this...

What's wrong with the BMW iPod adapter? Are you looking for a cheaper option?

+1 I think its worth the money. Definitely has some cool features. I think you can get a cheaper one at Best Buy, just a different brand and you would have to get it installed somewhere other than a dealer.

And after installation you have to take your car to dealer any way to reprogram.

the dealer can do this option for you? it will probably cost $500 right? I will need to call my local dealership to ask them. so expensive though.
