Whiteline bushing kit available for e9x
So looks like whiteline has a bushing kit for E9x now.
I have been eyeing them for a while now since my bushings are getting tired. its part # WEK-007 summit racing has it for $319 the only hickup is that it has the rear sub-frame inserts not bushings. The rear Subframe bushings are #KDT-917 and are $179 Extremely good value! |

How would this kit compare to M3 front suspension kit?
I was going to replace only the front with M3 suspension bits but this Whiteline bushing set includes front, rear and subframe. Of course it will require more work but ve been thinking about purchasing a press for a while anyway. On the side note, subframe inserts are they pretty durable? To last another 70~80k miles? Or should i go with bushings as well? |

Well Whiteline was not offering full rear subframe bushings last time I checked. Only inserts. They are now, and at a pretty decent price:
http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_..._number=KDT917 However this is not included in the full car bushing kit, just the inserts. As for the M3 bits vs Whiteline bushings in front, I think I'd rather have the M3 bits. Monoball vs poly. But I have an XI and that option is not available for us, the only thing we can do is Strongflex TS bushings (or the $$ one-off monoball bushings can't remember whose) and the lower control arm already has a monoball type bushing. I would also rather have the M3 bits in the rear that fit instead of pressing poly bushings into non-M3 arms. Last edited by ajsalida; 06-23-2016 at 07:03 AM.. |

For a rwd car, even if you bought the whole-car kit and then also bought the full rear subframe bushing kit to use instead of the inserts, you'd still be spending less on parts than if you bought, say, the M3 front and rear upper control arms. Just a lot more labor pressing all those bushings in to the stock arms. Since I have an xi, I have the Strongflex front TS bushings. Quote:
The other option for the front of the xi is Syncro Design, which are very nice looking but also not cheap. |

Another interesting thing about these newer whitleine bushings, they are all black instead of yellow, like the subframe inserts were when I bought them a few years ago. I don't know if it means they've gone to a stiffer poly or what.

Poly bushings will just limit arm movement and provide better feedback. They won't affect camber in the front at all unless they are off set. |

Google wek-007 its a kit. covers almost the whole car. front and rear.
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/whl-wek007 here are the details http://www.whiteline.com.au/do_segue...2005-10%2F2011 the kit includes both Front bushings, diff bushings, various rear arms bushings, and rear subframe inserts. If you want the rear Subframe bushings that are not part of the kit you need KDT-917 https://www.summitracing.com/parts/whl-kdt917 here is more info on that http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_..._number=kdt917 Hope this clears it up. |

Returning to this topic, installed the M3'vert rear swaybar and r&r'ed the rear arm bushings except for the spring cup arm in my E90. What a b147ch getting these old bushings out, even with pulling tools. Worse cursing fest getting the new ones in.
Even choosing stock factory bushings, serious improvement in ride vs the 130k mile old bushings that came out. Also need to lower the subframe by unbolting it and lower ~ 2 inches using a floor jack under the diff, to get clearance for the swaybar swap. Predictable yet still eye-opening, how much difference going to that 23.5mm rear bar makes vs the stock (why did BMW even bother putting it in?) 13.5 rear bar the non-M E90's get. Now planning the biggest mofo job, the rear subframe mounts. What tool or rig has anyone used to r&r the rear subframe mounts on the E9x?
