1.776/60' w/E93 on Run Flats
Since the E93 335i hardtop convertibles are much heavier than their Coupe or Sedan counterparts, you hardly ever see guys tracking or drag racing them. But since I happen to be an enthusiast with a Wife that loves convertibles, I thought I'd post my latest 1/4 mile times.
My July-Build "07" E93 has only Two Performance Mods, a JB2HR & Coated UR Catless DP's. I also have the BMS O2 SIM, so no CEL's. I'm running the Stock Air Filter, Sport Suspension & Run-Flats. 1/4 tank of 93 octane w/2 gallons of VP 108 octane added for the "R" Switch... This Test & Tune event was held at Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds, GA about 140 miles south of Atlanta. Elevation is 450 ft. and Temps where in the mid 70's, so it was a beautiful day. About six of us drove down from Atlanta since our times at Silver Dollar are almost a 1/2 second faster than Commerce Dragway because of differences in Elevation & Track prep. Commerce is @1,100' above sea level vs. 450' at Silver Dollar. Commerce is also where the NHRA holds the Southern Nationals every year. This was my second time running against my buddy who has a really nice "06" Porsche Cayman-S. He's added Exhaust & Intake mods. On our first meeting at Commerce he whipped up on me every race averaging around a 13.3@105 to my 13.5@100mph, but at the time I was only running the JB2. So after adding one "H" pill, the "R" switch & catless DP's I felt I was ready for him. On our first few runs, I ran with the "R" switch OFF to get used to the track. First run against the Cayman-S, I ran a 13.17@105mph to his 13.47@106, but he bogged it off the line. Latter with the "R" switch ON, my best run was a 12.77@106.12 with a 1.776/60' & the Cayman-S best was around 13.03@ 107 with a 1.9/60ft. I was kind of dissapointed I couldn't at least get into the mid 12's, knowing E90's & E92's with similar mods are typically running low to mid 12's. Then someone mentioned they had a CAR SCALE at the track next to the VP Racing Fuel pumps. I knew my E93 was Heavy, but I was shocked when i pulled up on the scale and it read 4,220 lbs. When I got out of the car the scales dropped to 4,000 lbs. even! I took my helmet and digital camera out of the car and it read 3,995 POUNDS, and that's with a little more than a 1/4 of a tank of gas! On the flip side my friends Cayman-S weighted in at a scant 3,046 pounds! My 1st run against the Cayman-S (Right-Lane/car#19)"R" Switch Off. Another against an older Modified M3(he was running low to mid 13's, I was in the high 12's) My best time of the day. 12.77@106.12mph w/a 1.776/60' on Run-Flats. Rear Tire pressure@26psi. Power braking & Launching at 1,400rpm! A True Heavyweight, my E93 with a 1/4 tank of gas= 3,995 lbs! I don't understand why my traps are so low (105-106mph) compared to E90's & E92's(110-114mph) with similar mods... It seems to me weight would be a factor in 60 foot times(getting all that heft moving from a standstill, not top end Trap speeds. Any Thoughts???

Wow, ridiculous times. The track prep there must be incredible to get that kind of 60' on run flats. I can't get better than a 1.96 in my coupe (stock), but I consistently run 13.3s and know I can get into the 13.2s. Congrats on the awesome times for a drop-top!
