Same Engine As X5?

It's a long story, but I have a project/track car in the works. I need a short block at least an actually would prefer a complete totaled car. Does anyone know if an X5 engine block is the same exactly? I may have one located for cheap. Thanks

I'm pretty sure it's the same as they both have the same engine code of M57. The only difference I can see is the DPF has a low pressure EGR as well. I would stick with an 09 to 11 X5 just to be safe.

Also, we must see pics of said track car when the diesel is in there.
