So I've talked to many dealers in the DMV area about getting a carbon cleaning and some of them almost have no idea what there talking about I talked to the guys at bpc about it and apparently it's just not a common thing Bmw does, has anyone in the DC area had it done if so by who?

I assure you for any BMW dealer, that has a reasonably good service department, CBU cleaning should be routine. Only exception is if for some strange reason that dealer never sold any diesels. I had it done where I obtained by 335D, was no issue for them at all. Mine was under warranty but based on feedback here, it should run about $1200-$1500 at a dealer depending on if they clean or replace the intake.

BMW of Rockville quoted me $2,300 (from memory) in any case way too high. BMW ExcluService (good guys, in Silver Spring) quoted me a more reasonable $1,700.

If you have a decent compressor with a good amount of CFMS you can do it and pick.up everything except the wands at harbor freight. I have a bunch of pics.. you also need to lock the crank at TDC and bores cope valves... not that hard just time consuming and tedious... ohh and new gaskets on.manifold and throttle body

CBU cleaning for a 335d here in Chicago at a good independent shop is around 800-1k. I would imagine that at the dealer you would get a royal f**king, so stay away lol.

Bavauto sells the supplies so you can do this on your own.
