Thread length on front strut mounts

Hello.
I have sport suspension with Lemfoerder strut mounts (oem p/n is 31306775098, lemf p/n is 3121101. There is ~ 10mm of free thread with nut in place (There are 3 pcs on top of the mount).
But sometimes I see that there is much less "free" thread on another e90 cars, about 2-3mm.
I guess sport mount (*098) and standart mount (31336760943) has different length of thread. But why?
Here are some low quality photos, but you can see difference.

Sadly there is no p/n for #3.
#6 is paper ring (less than 1mm).

#3 is the strut brace on M cars. Could the difference be from camber plates?

No camber plates on both cars.
Maybe community can help? Please see how it looks on your cars with stock strut mounts.

Was just going off what I was told when I asked what #3 was previously. I've never seen plates like in your pictures. But would definitely explain the thread difference.

Reinforcement. With plate in place the studs will flex less relative to each other and reduce the chances of either sheerig off or cracking the strut tower.

Then why no part number? What is it even on or an option for? I'm just generally intetested. Because the M3 strut brace would go exactly where the realoem picture shows.

The length of the studs is the same but what you see sticking up depends whether the car is equipped with reinforcement plate or not.

Yes, better, it will prevent debris and water from inside the race and overtime damage the bearing. Typically you need to replace both since one new will alter the ride height a bit.

All of these parts goes under the strut tower. M3 strut brace goes over the tower. Whether you have reinforcement plate or not it will not affect potential instal of M3 brace as the brace requires special huts.I will try to get the part# for you.

Cool thanks. Looking at the realoem pic again I see where I got confused. The pic shows #3 having its own alignment pin and bolts, but it also shows the gasket going on top. Still not sure of the benefit as it looks only 2mm thick.

RealOEMis very useful but not always correct. Just look at the photos from the rear rebuild kit > photo is from front axle but part #'s from rear. Is about 3-4mm and I already explain to you what is it for.
