Possible to increase "steering rate"?

Is it possible to change the rate at which the steering wheel turns the front wheels? I'm assuming a differently geared pinion gear would be needed... is there any other way to change this?

I gotta believe that this kinda change would be a pain in the ass. I would just get another type of car. I cant believe that you folks dislike the steering so much that you are considering this. Sorry.

The steering is perfectly fine for street driving... and probably great for most road courses.
I was hoping there might be an aftermarket solution that might allow for a quick change for very tight autocross courses, for instance... something that would allow you to keep both hands on the steering wheel at ALL times, even going from full lock one way to the other...like an F1 car steering wheel.

But it sounds like such a thing doesn't exist...

It's like 180 degrees lock-to-center at low speeds, I believe. The fixed ratio you are describing would make the car completely undriveable above 60 mph; moving the wheel a few degrees would run it off the road...
I ended up buying my car off the lot (1 of 3 in stock at the time), so I didn't get to check off any options boxes .

I read up on active steering and it sounds great! I wonder how it'll do on the track, both autocross and road race tracks? It is available on the 1 series? I wonder if anyone who tracks their car has active steering?
