Battery replacement at the dealer
So the past month my car has been dying slowly and today i had enough of it and figured it was time to replace my 2011 335is battery
I've gotten my 328i battery replaced at a dealer before and remember paying around 75 bucks so I figure what the hell I'll have them replace it since I do not have the computer to flash it Get to BMW Southampton and received my car back and got hit with a $484.87 bill $159 labor cost $304.41 battery cost $15 core charge and a 10% customer loyalty discount because I know the Sales manager I go on tischer and of course the battery is only $170 what can I do now? |

The battery cost seems fishy. Call the parts counter at the dealer and ask them the price on a battery.
Unless there is a clerical mistake, you just got hosed and have to pay it. On something like this I always ask for prices first. |

Nope, that battery cost (& your total cost installed) is around the very same I was quoted @ my dealer for battery replacement in my 328
That was for the largest AGM battery/install/battery registration Ended up they did it for free... I'd like to know where you got an OEM battery replaced @ the dealer previously for $75 ![]() ![]()

I got my battery replaced at BMW OysterBay a few years back for what I believe was ~$200. They had some special for that month.

AGM batteries are expensive, period. I put one in my muscle car and got it on sale(date was about to expire) at a parts store and it was listed at $280. Best battery I've ever used. Bought in '09, car sits a lot, never started in winter, turns a high load engine, and it hasn't yet disappointed me.

Nothing. You must ask what it will cost before they do the work. It is at that point that you can discuss the part cost / markup, amount of labor, etc...
This ridiculous cost from the dealer is why I often advise on this board to change your own battery. A reasonable cost for this job is $200-250, assuming convention lead acid battery. More if AGM. The OEM battery is not made by BMW and you can get the same type and quality of battery for less. I won't even comment on $150 labor charge for this 45 minute job.
