Pilot super sports

Changed my rear tyres last Wednesday from Goodyear F1 Asy 2 to Michelin pilot super sports (255/30/19)
I thought the F1s were good, I've been using them since I bought my 335i in 2012, but the super sports are imo better (at least in the dry) hasn't rained since I had them fitted.
More dry grip & feedback than the F1s.
Worth the £90 more than the Goodyears? I think so

Agreed, if you are after performance tyre the PSS seem to be the best. I ran F1's on my 335i though as I clocked a lot of mileage up and I didn't need super sticky grip.

Ha yeah, will most likely be ok if one doesn't drive like a tool in the rain
I had ps1,2 & 3s on my e36 328 sport during the ten years I owned it & wet grip was reasonable, ok it had 180bhp less than my 335

In the rain PSS are great as well, only time when they struggle a bit is in very low temps

+1. PSS are better in the wet. Their only downfall is in temp under 40°F.

Am sure I will be more than happy with them. Maybes I will get more than 8-10k out of these as that's all the F1s were good for

I've found PSS to be great in the dry and the wet. Even my Hankooks struggle not to spin in the wet if I go for it. I think all tryres would. PSS are definately my favourite tyre to date on a cost for performance basis.

Jack I imagine any tyre would spin up when you unleash that monster of yours.
I would have put michelins on it when I first had to change the tyres, I did on the front, but couldn't get the pss at the time for the rear & remembered how good the old F1s were on my e34 m5

That's what i would have said before too lol. But i drive the car hard, taken it to santa pod a few times and rockingham. Plus there's over 600ft.lbs of torque so i am more than impressed! I'm sure you will get 15k at least.

To be fair i did run the tyres basically to the ground lol.

Yeah I reckon most of us do, when I was getting the rears fitted I saw a poster in the waiting area that recommended replacing tyres when they get to 3mm!

I get about 20k out of them. They have a 30k warranty if rotated. Basically they last twice as long as anything else in the class.

I switched over to PSS a couple of months ago from Goodyears and the PSS are much better. I get far less instances of the traction control cutting in now in the det or the dry.

That's a good warranty, however on our cars we cannot rotate, unless you have a square set up?

Correct, but it speaks to the treadlife you get. It's category peers have 15k warranties. I get about 20k out of the right rear pss. 40k out of the front.

I've had 3 sets pss, two conti, two Bridgestone, one kumho. Three ps/2. The pss are far superior to the others.
