I have the BMS intake and have noticed my car running sluggish recently when it's hot outside. So, I'm looking for a way to pull in colder air. The Mr. 5 Intake seems like a great option, but there is a bar in the way on my e92. I could probably split the intake and have two smaller tunes going into the bumper area and the couple back into one 2.25" tube into the intake box. Also, probably won't need the filters on the end of the tubing since the air would be filtered after it's in the box (unlike the n54), but I would probably put some screens on the ends and point the tubing down to reduce water or dirt from being sucked up. Thoughts? Please don't say just keep the BMS one, it's already hotter after the turbo, etc. I have the stock intake with a high flow filter that I would reinstall.
I will be getting a BMS methanol kit soon too, to reduce the IATs, but the more cool air the better.

You could just put your stock airbox back on and see if that helps. I doubt you'll see any difference either way.
Hotter ambient temp = Hotter IAT's no matter how you slice it. |
