Many posted that when they installed PPK, it took some time for the PPK to start taking effect. It could be some days or some miles, depends on the person who wrote the review.

I am wondering what is the program actually doing in the background from being installed until it starts to work? Is it evaluating parameters from the car, like oil temp, oil pressure, turbo pressure whatsoever then adapting itself to meet the condition of the car? Anyone knows this exactly?

I only heard PPK requires time to work, no others like JB4 and Cobb. Does this mean that JB4 and Cobb etc don`t have this self-adaption ability, instead they simply apply all preset parameters to the car regardless of its own condition?

Mine was instantaneous, but got a little better as I drove a few miles. I have the newer ROM 98G1B flashed with 8666678, though. I cannot speak for the older ROM, which is what the how to is posted for. I would assume it's normal time for adaptations after a flash to set. It's very noticeable on a FBO with e85, after the tune is put back on.

You can use INPA to check the ROM. INPA is a software for various things on our cars. There is a VM floating around that has all the software you need preinstalled that you can check ROM with. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1220039

Are you running a tune jb4 or cobb? and do you plan on doing the ppk? Some 335i aren't able to be flashed with cobb if updated too far or built after a certain date.

Good idea, stacking the jb4 on top of the ppk is You get the ppk sound and jb4 performance.

exactly Before upgrading power, I need to change the plastic charge pipe and install oil catch can as a preventive measure.
