Exclamation Waterpump broke yesterday 09 e90 61k miles

Driving home and all of a sudden I get loss of power and the red overheating icon. Shut car off for a few minutes it starts fine drive then same thing. Thankfully I was able to make it home, then had it towed to the dealership and they said the waterpump broke and i'm leaking oil.

All I want to say is thank goodness for warranty! I baby my car! I'm the 2nd owner for 2.5 years since 38k miles and so far I have had solenoids replaced, the ac went out, and now this.... I hope this is the worst of the worst for her. My warranty was for 4 years or 48k miles so I'm getting close to it being up which is scary.

EDIT: Update 7/27/2016, got my car back from dealer today at 11:30a they ended up replacing the thermostat, and oil gasket cover. Drove to work straight from dealership, left work around 2:10p driving on the free way and I get the yellow engine light. Car has been with them since last Thursday night when I had it towed. Now have a loaner until they figure out what happened, to me cylinders were misfiring. Paid $302 for the other repairs and oil change so I hope this doesn't cost me any more....

I wish I was mechanically inclined to do stuff like this myself but I don't have the tools or confidence to do things myself in fear I'll mess up and break something more expensive.

Is it the 328i or 335i? 328i engine (N52) usually quite reliable.

VANOS solenoids are about $134 each.

To replace it takes about 30min to an hour. This you can definitely do yourself!
